This week, Soweto celebrates the centenary of John Coltrane, one of the most important and pioneering musicians in jazz and 20th-century music. From Monday to Thursday, Soweto invites four musicians to choose some of their favourite Coltrane records and reflect on his impact and legacy. To begin, Soweto welcomes his first guest, explorative American saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist Isaiah Collier. ‘Round Midnight is presented by award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch. This weekday late-night show celebrates the thriving UK jazz scene and spotlights the best new music alongside incredible acts from past decades.
