The Cathedral Church of St Peter and St Paul in Washington, USA.

Bells on Sunday

Available for over a year

Bells on Sunday comes from the Cathedral Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Washington, USA. In 1791 President Washington commissioned a plan for the nation’s capital that included a great church for national purposes. However, it wasn’t until 1907 that the first foundation stone of the Cathedral was laid with construction then taking eighty three years to complete. The central tower holds a peal of ten bells that was installed in 1963 by the Whitechapel Foundry of London. The Tenor weighs thirty two hundredweight and is tuned to D. We hear them ringing Stedman Caters.
