DJ, broadcaster, writer and dreamer Zakia Sewell provides the soundtrack to your dreams - playing music to ease the mind, soothe the soul, and open portals to new dimensions. Zakia takes us on another mystical musical voyage, with cosmic selections to help keep our cool in this heat. There are sound collages from Melbourne’s Synergy Trilogy, cosmic folk songs from Bengal’s Mohammed After Hussain and some oldtime banjo from Emile Grimshaw. There’s a hefty dose of sunny Brazilian jazz from the likes of Joyce Moreno and Hermeto Pascoal, and new releases including Beverly Glenn Copeland, Husha Husha and Lau Ro. Plus, we’ll be heading down the Portal with the Texas-born and Chicago-based musician, visual artist and self-confessed dreamer Sparklmami, whose debut album in this body came out earlier this month.
