Mark Radcliffe's Choral Odyssey 2

Music Matters

Available for 27 days

In the second programme of Mark's choral odyssey, we begin with Eric Whitacre's Lux Aurumque, performed by the Eric Whitacre Singers and conducted by the man himself. We weave through Barber's Agnus Dei, Gorecki's Totus Tuus and the Dies Irae from Mozart’s Requiem, and Mark juxtaposes these with more modern uses of choral sound in music such as Talk Talk's I Believe In You, which features the choir of Chelmsford Cathedral. He rounds off his odyssey with the beautiful piece There Will Be Rest by Frank Ticheli, performed by one of his favourite vocal ensembles, Voces8. Presenter: Mark Radcliffe Producers: Ben Collingwood & Elizabeth Foster
