Can you see an end to conflict in the Middle East? Israel has launched a fresh wave of strikes in Tehran, as Iranians celebrate the Persian New Year. Meanwhile, Iranian missile and drone attacks were reported in several of the Gulf states overnight. Donald Trump has insisted he won’t be sending ground troops to the region. The owner of an award winning fish and chip shop has told the BBC he will no longer serve cod – as the fish has become too expensive. Andrew Arnold, who runs a fish and chip shop near York, has seen the price of cod rise 200% in the last 15 months. As haddock has also risen in price, he’s encouraging customers to try different species of fish like pollock. Would you be prepared to ditch cod to save money? How is the price of fish and chips where you are? And finally, BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru are joining forces once again to celebrate Wales’ unsung community heroes, with the BBC Make a Difference Awards 2026. There are eight categories in all, and Oliver Hides is championing the Volunteer Award, which is awarded to an individual who makes a notable difference to the community by giving their time voluntarily to help others. So what makes a great volunteer? We’ll chat to Felicite Walls from the Wales Council for Voluntary Action. Call or WhatsApp 03700 100 110 or Text 8 10 12. Be part of the nations' conversation
