How Nadine White is championing black stories (20/03/2026)

Kamilah McInnis

Available for 18 days

Kamilah McInnis speaks with journalist and filmmaker Nadine White about the “gross failings” of a Surrey hospital that led to the death of Irene Dzifa King Arthur, a woman with sickle cell anaemia from Church Crookham, Hampshire. Nadine is the founder of Black Current News, an independent media platform that centres black British experiences. Ahead of a new community walk for men from ethnic minority backgrounds in Hastings on Tuesday, Kamilah hears from walk leader and Green Party councillor Yunis Smith, and Anna Wang from Lewes‑based Diversity Resource International. And did you know that music not sung in English is making serious moves in the charts? To mark this, Kamilah plays a special sample show of global grooves that have influenced today's hits - featuring Tems, Michael Jackson and Manu Dibango. For great music, good energy and news from our African and Caribbean communities, join Kamilah every Friday from 7pm-10pm.
