Step into Arlo’s inner world for an hour of music and musings on creativity, comfort and inspiration. She’s called it Dream Fuel - a scrapbook in sound of her favourite tracks, poems, personal voice notes, field recordings and special guests. In this episode Arlo is joined by the award-winning music producer Paul Epworth. The man behind some of the biggest records of recent years, including Adele, Rihanna and Florence and the Machine, Paul has won countless awards including seven Grammys, three BRITs and an Oscar. His studio The Church in North London is Arlo’s favourite studio to record in, where they’ve worked together on her music including some of Collapsed in Sunbeams. He also releases his own music, and his debut album Voyager features the likes of Vince Staples and Ty Dolla $ign. He joins Arlo to swap stories alongside some of their favourite tracks, from the hip hop classics of Mad Lib and J Dilla, to some sunny Zamrock and the lyrical genius of Pixies. Together they discuss the ins and outs of making music, how they channel chaos into songs, and geek out on production. Plus Arlo shares some of the songs she’s had on repeat recently including Janet Jackson, Khruangbin and Rodriguez, and reflects on how music can help healing, self-doubt and sprinkling sadness.
