*** 4 Extra marks the centenary of the opening of Stanley Park and the ‘new’ South promenade in Blackpool in October 1926. Have you ever wondered what a seaside town is like out of season? All the tourists have gone home - and the only people to be seen are the locals fighting being dive bombed by seagulls! Four local Blackpool residents escape the biting wind in an empty promenade café. Alone with their thoughts, we discover what has brought them to, and indeed what keeps them in, a town that has lost its sparkle. Each resident is facing decisions which will change their lives forever... Written by Anne-Marie O’Connor. Mandy …. Hayley Doherty George …. David Hargreaves Linda …. Denise Black Carly ….
