Join us for a special recording of BBC Radio 4’s Bookclub with acclaimed illustrator and author Charlie Mackesy as he discusses his beloved book The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse.

A story for readers of all ages, the book follows four unlikely friends on a journey of friendship, courage and kindness, sharing the life lessons they discover along the way.

If you’d like to hear more about the inspiration behind the book, its creation, and the ideas that have resonated with millions of readers around the world, we’d be delighted to welcome you.

To attend, please apply for a ticket and submit a question for Charlie in advance by emailing bookclub@bbc.co.uk.

Bookclub is driven by audience questions, making this a unique opportunity to be part of a lively conversation between presenter James Naughtie and Charlie Mackesy.

How to be in the audience

Step 1: Apply for tickets

Tickets for this show are being allocated on a first-come first-served basis, so when we receive your ticket request your details are added to the list of applicants. Tickets are usually dispatched from approximately three weeks ahead of the recording date.

Step 2: Receive a message

All eligible requests are allocated tickets in the order they are received, up to the maximum number of available tickets. If successful, we notify you by text message and send your e-ticket(s) to your email address. If unsuccessful you will be kept on the waiting list in case anyone cancels their tickets.

Step 3: Bring your tickets and ID

We do our best to get the numbers right, but unfortunately we occasionally have to disappoint people. Remember that every guest must bring original approved photo ID.
