Programme Details

On Night Waves this evening, in a rare interview, Susan Hitch talks to the man who has done more than any other over the last forty years to alter the skyline near you - Norman Foster. If you've strolled in London recently, roamed New York, explored Hong Kong - or even just flown from Stansted Airport, the chances are you've encountered the arcs and edifices of steel which have made Foster an architectural superstar. As his new book Reflections is published, he talks to Susan about snow circles, flying cars, and reflects on the buildings that have inspired him.

Timothy Treadwell was an eccentric figure - a passionate, difficult outsider who campaigned for the protection of grizzly bears in Alaska. He lived among them for thirteen years, filming them, believing he was one of them, until, in 2003, the animals he adored killed him - and then ate him. Enter German director Werner Herzog - himself no stranger to accusations of eccentricity - who picked up Treadwell's story and his remarkable footage. The result is Grizzly Man - the unique, comic, terrifying story of an extremist Dr Doolittle.

That's all in Night Waves here on Radio 3 with Susan Hitch at 9.30 tonight.
