There are nearly 700 sinkholes in central Turkey and their numbers are rapidly increasing, endangering the livelihood and the lives of the region’s farmers. These holes are a symptom of the ongoing drought and uncontrolled groundwater use in Konya, Turkey's agricultural heartland. Journalist Zeynep Bilginsoy speaks to Konya farmers, and experts to find out why the sinkholes are increasing and what needs to be done to prevent their spread.
