Liberia wants mothers to breastfeed for six months

This week, Liberia’s House of Representatives unanimously voted in favour of a new bill to promote breastfeeding for at least six months. Despite it being advised by health officials, babies are sometimes given formula or other liquids. The authorities in Kenya are asking for public and private support to battle wildfires blazing on Mount Kenya. The request comes after failed attempts to extinguish the fires, which ignited more than two weeks ago. Photo credit: AFP
