Ethiopia: arrest warrants out for TPLF members

The latest on fighting in Ethiopia’s Tigray region, with prime minister Abiy Ahmed’s government issuing arrest warrants for members of the Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front and senior officials from the regional government. Thousands of people have reportedly fled Tigray to neighbouring Sudan in order to escape the fighting there.

We get an update on Zambia’s economy. The country is set to become the first African country to default on its sovereign debt since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
