Africa's 'lost $836bn through illegal transfers'

The illegal outflow of money is related to the export of high-value goods such as gold.

Africa lost $836bn (£650bn) in illegal movement of money out of the continent in the 15 years to 2015, a new report by the UN agency for trade and development (UNCTAD) estimates.

South Africa’s economy lost 2.2 million jobs in the second quarter of 2020, according to the government's statistics agency.

We speak to Ghana-born Patrick Adom who is a computer science specialist turned puzzle maker, he wants to highlight the history and culture of Africa.
