The cost of the alcohol ban in South Africa
Over 62,000 deaths are attributed to alcohol each year in South Africa.
To free up space in South African public hospitals for Coronavirus patients, the government instituted a nationwide ban on the sale of alcohol. But with over 100 000 job losses in the liquor industry, can South Africa afford to keep up the prohibition?
