      We begin in Zimbabwe where Parliament has been suspended after two members tested positive for the coronavirus. So far the country has just over 2,700 cases and 36 deaths. Parliament will now be closed to enable a very deep clean before any activity can continue in the building. So how will this impact on the Parliamentary business and the workings of the state? Priscilla Misi-hai-rambwi is an MP and the Chairperson of the parliamentary portfolio committe on education. This is an issue which has taken great prominence lately with parents raising concerns of sending their children back to school. I asked the MP for her reaction to Parliament closing.

      A staggering 16 and a half million people now have the coronavirus globally, so many hopes are being pinned on a vaccine and the trials around the world. There are some however who believe it's not a vaccine, but the anti-malaria drug, that is effective against COVID19. One such advocate who said he's used it as a preventative measure is US President Donald Trump. In the past twenty four hours, a video he shared has been trending worldwide... It shows a group of doctors promoting the drug through their spokesperson, Dr. Stella Immanuel from Cameroon. Yet the World Health Organisation has halted trials of hydroxychloroquine and has stated categorically it cannot reduce death rates in coronavirus patients. Well Twitter has suspended the account of Donald Trump Jr and Dr. Immanueal for repeating the claims which the social media says is dangerous... So with the debate again about the drug we turned to Dr. Adegoke Adeniji, Associate Professor of Pharmacology at South University in Georgia for his personal professional take on the matter.

So having a Hepatitis-Free Future is what the World Health Organisation, the UN and other bodies have been calling for today as they focus on this disease... Hepatitis B in particular affects young mothers and infant children on the continent... So I turned to Professor Olufunmilayo Lesi, Regional Medical Officer, Viral Hepatitis for the WHO in Brazzaville to learn more.
