West African leaders head to Mali to mediate crisis

12 people have been killed in violent clashes between protesters and police.

Five West African presidents under the regional group Ecowas are heading to Mali today for more talks aimed at resolving the country’s political crisis.

In Uganda, at least 12 people have allegedly been killed by security officers enforcing measures to restrict the spread of coronavirus, while no-one has been confirmed as dying from the virus itself.
