DRC celebrates its 60th independence anniversary

The Democratic Republic of Congo gained indepence in 1960.

Today, Africa’s second largest country, the Democratic Republic of Congo, celebrates its 60th independence anniversary.

Tens of thousands of people are staging demonstrations in towns and cities across Sudan to press for greater political reform.

In Gabon, the senate parliament passed a bill to decriminalise homosexuality. We speak to LGBTQ campaigner Sommny Abegue.
