African swine fever 'decimating' Nigerian pigs

The highly contagious haemorrhagic viral disease was detected in February, farmers say.

In Nigeria, swine fever has swept through herds of pigs, wreaking havoc on pig farms in Ogun State in the South west. Farmers say they have lost hundreds of thousands of pigs since the outbreak started in February.

In Libya, reports have emerged of the discovery of eight mass graves in the hilltop town of Tarhouna.The area had been occupied by General Khalifa Haftar before his troops were pushed back by the UN backed government of National Accord.
