Will the coronavirus crisis have impact on Malaria response?

Malaria is still one of the biggest killers on the continent and the World Health Organisation warned earlier this year that the usual number of annual cases could double in 2020 if preventative measures aren't maintained.

Zimbabwe police say they have arrested over 40 000 people for violating lockdown restrictions.

The UN has warned that the current situation in the Mediterranean region could mean hundreds or even thousands of people are disappearing at sea. The number of migrant boats leaving Libya for Europe has increased four times since last year.
