Critics say it's a pretext for the president to seek a third term in office
Guinea President Alpha Condé announced on Monday evening that he was enacting the country's new constitution. It's been a hugely controversial topic, and most main opposition parties boycotted the referendum, which passed with more than 90% of those who did cast ballots voting in favour. Critics say it's a pretext for the president to seek what would be a third term in office, something he has never confirmed.
