Spencon was once one of the largest construction firms in East Africa. After years of financial trouble, two highly-paid British bosses were brought in to save it, but 18 months later the bosses had fled and hundreds of Africans had lost their jobs. Academic and Poet, Stella Nyanzi is one of Uganda's most famous and most unapologetic critics of President Yoweri Museveni. In February she was released from prison after spending more than a year in jail for posting on social media a poem criticising the President.
