Coronavirus: African cases double in past two days

There has been a sharp rise in coronavirus cases in Africa. Although there are fewer cases than in most other continents, the total count more than doubled in the past two days.

South Africa which has 61 cases has a state of national disaster declared, the health minister explains why. Meanwhile some Kenyan health staff protest against a lack of protective equipment against Covid-19. And Ghana's President Akufo-Addo imposes a travel ban on a number of countries and suspends public gatherings and events, and also closed schools in the wake of the coronavirus.
