Tanzania to switch off unregistered Sim cards

Long queues have formed in several centres across Tanzania as people try to beat Monday's deadline to register their Sim cards.

The measure is part of the government's order for all users of mobile phones to register them under a new biometric system.

Sixteen African heads of state are attending a business conference in London hosted by the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson with deals worth about eight billion dollars expected to be announced at the summit.
