What's driving a spike in measles infections in Africa?

Over a quarter of a million new cases were reported this year in the DR Congo

The President of France Emmanuel Macron has called for a summit with leaders of west African countries of the Sahel region. The meeting will assess African leaders' support for the French-led anti-terrorism mission Barkhane. We ask the World Health Organisation what's driving the spread of Measles infections worldwide.

The Nature Conservancy an American organisation purchased $21m worth of Seychelles debt held by European nations including the UK and France. In return, Seychelles agreed to legislation to protect thirty per cent of its oceans – an area almost double the size of Great Britain. Could this be a model for other ocean nations? The BBC’s Catherine Byaruhanga has been finding out.
