Calm returns to Guinea after protests claim nine lives

Following demonstrations over proposals for President Alpha Conde to go for a third term.

In Guinea, opposition members are expected to go on trial this week after being arrested for protesting against plans to change the constitution.

Veteran reggae singer and songwriter Tiken Jah Fakoly from Ivory Coast also expressed his concern.

One of the most senior politicians in South Africa's opposition party, Democratic Alliance (DA) has resigned his post and quit the party over how it handles race.
