An overnight curfew has been announced in four towns of Sudan's North Kordofan state after five people were shot dead during a protest.
The Nigerian government says it has banned a Shia Islamic group, following a series of deadly clashes with authorities and after a court injunction gave permission to declare them a terrorist organisation.
