
Buhari sworn in as Nigerian president
Now in his second term, Buhari faces old challenges including security and unemployment
Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has been sworn in for a second term at a ceremony in the capital Abuja. Mr Buhari's to-do list includes reviving a weak economy and tackling rampant corruption and insecurity. We hear statements from the swearing in ceremony and a report from the BBC's Mayeni Jones, looking at why unemployment figures are still so high four years since Buhari's first mandate began.
Mohanad Hashim gives us the latest on the ongoing protests and strikes in Sudan, where a pregnant woman lost her life and ten protesters were injured in clashes that broke out between soldiers.
Sierra Leone has announced the resumption of logging after a ban lasting nearly ten years, according to a statement from the office of the president. We hear from the Minister of Agricultural and Forestry, as well as environmentalist agencies worried by the move.
