Tanzania Minister defends country's record on media freedom

The Foreign Minister of Tanzania is at the Global Conference for Media Freedom in London

As a Global Conference for Media Freedom is underway in London, Tanzania's Foreign Minister, Professor Paramagamba Kabudi, defends the country's record on press freedom - saying the government has never tried to stop journalists from doing their job.

African leaders are meeting in Nairobi to exchange ideas on how to tackle extremism on the continent. It comes as the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres highlighted terrorism and violent extremism as a problem affecting a growing number of countries in Africa. We hear from Aya Chebbi, the first African Union Youth Envoy and the youngest diplomat at the African Union Commission Chairperson's Cabinet.

Traditionally male-led chiefdoms in northern Cameroon have begun recognising women in crucial decision-making circles. We hear Senator Paul Nkwi, a university professor teaching Anthropology.
