As Sudan's internet is restored after a month of outage and of brutal crackdowns on protesters by hand of the Rapid Support Forces, activists turn to social media to document the events.

The Parliament building in Nigeria is in lockdown after alleged protesters stormed in clashing with security forces.

Nigerian writer Lesley Nneka Arimah has been awarded the 2019 Caine Prize for African Writing for her novel 'Skinned'. Her story imagines a society where young girls are ritually ‘uncovered’ and must marry before reclaiming the right to be dressed.
