Malawi is the first country to trial a new anti-Malaria vaccine on a large scale
Malawi is spearheading the launch of a new anti-Malaria vaccine which has proved effective on protecting almost 40% of 5-to-17-months-old children. The vaccination campaign starts today and it involves four separate shots to be delivered over two years, as Dr Felicitas Zawaira from the Family and Reproductive Health Cluster at the WHO Africa in Congo Brazavillie explains. This raises concerns that people could drop out from the vaccination scheme, so how will health professionals guarantee the efficacy of the treatment?
