Ebola spreading three times as fast in the DRC as total number of cases hits 2000
The speed of the spread of Ebola in affected areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo has tripled in just over two months, bringing the number of confirmed cases to over 2000. From Goma, the NGO Médecins Sans Frontières tells us how they are coping with the accelerating spread of the deadly virus.
Sudan's military leaders say they are scrapping all existing agreements with the main opposition coalition and will hold elections within nine months. The announcement made on state television on Tuesday morning follows the deaths of at least 30 protesters during security operations.
