Sudan's Main Opposition Leader Backs Protests

Sudan's opposition leader Sadiq al-Mahdi has joined calls for the president to go.

The veteran Sudanese opposition leader and former prime minister Sadiq al-Mahdi, has given his most overt backing to the protests against Omar al-Bashir, calling for the president's immediate resignation.

Plus South Africa's University of Pretoria has dropped Afrikaans as its official language in favour of English.
