Sierra Leone's First Lady launches initiative to fight gender violence and child marriage
Sierra Leone's First Lady, Fatima Bio, has opened an international meeting in Freetown to combat issues of child marriage and gender violence affecting young girls and women. First ladies from Ghana, Liberia, Chad, Niger and The Gambia are also participating. Mrs Bio says that traditional healers are part of the problem and the meeting will seek a dialogue with them too + Ethiopia starts withdrawing its troops from the troubled border town of Badme.
