In Uganda security forces have been deployed to stop protests in pockets of the capital over the arrest of Robert Kyagulanyi - an opposition lawmaker and musician known as Bobi Wine. Demonstrators have been burning tyres, throwing stones and erecting roadblocks; The rights group Human Rights Watch has called on the Ethiopian government to commit to an in-depth, independent fact-finding mission into many years of rights abuses and violations of the laws of war in eastern Ethiopia's Somali region; A new government initiative in Sierra Leone promises free education to children from primary education to just before university.
