The African Union Slams Zimbabwe's Army Take Over
Reports and analysis of the day's political, economic and sports news from across Africa.
The African Union has said the military takeover of Zimbabwe seems like a coup. AU called on the army to halt its action. South Africa's leader, Jacob Zuma, says President Mugabe told him he was under house arrest. The military's action was triggered by the sacking of vice president Emmerson Mnangagwa last week. He's been locked in a power struggle with the first lady, Grace Mugabe, about who should succeed the 93-year old president.
Plus Isabel Dos Santos fired as the head of Angola's state-owned oil company.
