Scientists trial insecticide that exploits a mosquito's attraction to sweet smells.
Scientists have developed an insecticide that exploits a mosquito's attraction to sweet substances and makes it believe it is drinking a sugary treat. It has been found to almost totally eradicate mosquitoes in the malaria-plagued Tanzanian villages where it has been trialled.
Plus, some Kenyan MPs have been calling for a reversal of their salary cut, agreed earlier this year. But President Uhuru Kenyatta has vowed to block any MP salary increase.
