Launde Abbey (Part One) : History in the making
Launde Abbey has been a place of worship since the 1100s with a story to tell.
For around 400 years, Launde Abbey was an Augustinian priory. Then for another 400 years or so, it became a family manor house and estate.
Surviving the dissolution of the monasteries in the 1530s, the then priory fell into the hands of none other than Thomas Cromwell.
