Nottingham's first female surgeon
Margaret Glen Bott practiced in the city from 1916.
In the early 1910s, Margaret Glenn Bott applied for jobs at various hospitals in the country, but got rejected because she was a woman.
In 1916, she joined Nottingham's General Hospital and treated those injured in WWI. She quickly became part of the fabric of the city, and lived here until her death in 1969.
