'I was killed off in The Archers'

Worcester's Sam Barriscale played John Archer for 11 years before his character died in Ambridge. In 1998, his untimely demise caused millions of listeners to cry.

He tells Elliott Webb how he remembers his storylines to this day, recording for months at a time from the age of 13. Sam left the radio drama to work in TV, including Casualty.

He now owns and runs the record shop Spin The Black Circle in the city.
