Investigating the 'dead dad' rental scam

We know housing is a big issue in London. Well, imagine your frustration when you've paid to rent a room in a flat but it turns out you're not the only one.

A BBC London Investigation has heard from several people who’ve said they’ve fallen victim to a rental scam in the London Bridge area.

After they'd paid a deposit of over a thousand pounds each, the would-be landlord said his father had died and the room was no longer available.
