Earthrise: The first colour photo of Earth from the Moon

“The Earth was the only thing in the entire universe that had any colour.”

Commander Frank Borman tells the story of Earthrise, the first colour photo of our planet from the moon - taken during lunar orbit on Nasa's 1968 Apollo 8 mission.

More stunning pictures are expected from the upcoming Artemis II mission – Nasa’s first crewed journey around the Moon in more than 50 years.
