EU-US relationship 'under heavy strain'

The relationship between the EU and the United States is "under heavy strain" under the Trump administration says the Vice-President of the European Commission.
Speaking to the World At One in her first UK interview since the start of the war in Iran, Kaja Kallas said the EU was "working on taking different steps to diversify our partnerships", adding "it is in our interest that all our eggs are not in the same basket."
When asked by Sarah Montague if she believed the US attacks on Iran were legal, she warned that Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and the global response to the conflict, had set a dangerous precedent for international law.
"Four years ago, I stated that if we are not strong in pushing back and really condemning this globally, then we will see more wars. And this is exactly what is going on."
