Dr Clare Sandford-Couch, author and historian, is part of a team of academics researching the history of women in Newcastle prison, telling the stories of those whose voices were rarely heard. Women Behind Bars: Life In Newcastle Prison 1828-1925 runs from 5th March until 27th April 2026.
