From tumour to triumph
A sports therapist who helped support BBC CWR’s three legged Children in Need Challenge has revealed he was once unable to walk or talk after surgery for a brain tumour.
Ekamjot Dhaliwal, now 23, first noticed symptoms in early 2021 when bouts of dizziness and balance problems prompted doctors to investigate. An MRI scan later confirmed a tumour that required urgent hospital treatment. After two major operations he had to re-learn how to walk and talk and is now hoping to inspire and help others after finishing his university degree. He spoke to BBC CWR presenter, JD.
