The petition for Syston Knitting Banksy gains momentum
A petition to try and get Royal Mail to rethink their decision to close down a much-loved post-box in Syston has been signed by nearly 1000 people.
For a few years now, the Syston community has experienced a very unique tradition of handmade post box toppers by Syston's very own knitting artist, the 'Syston Knitting Banksy'.
But this tradition has come under threat recently because of plans to make changes to the very post box that serves as the home for these incredible knitted pieces.
BBC Leicester’s Ady Dayman spoke to Fiona Henry, a spokesperson for the Syston Knitting Banksy, who’s real identity remains a secret.
