UK Oscar hopeful My Father's Shadow leads British Independent Film Awards nominations

The 2026 Oscars may be a few months away, but the UK already has a possible contender with the film 'My Father’s Shadow', which is set in Nigeria. The movie is the UK’s official submission for Best International Feature at the 2026 Academy Awards, after winning its director, Akinola Davies Jr, a prize at the Cannes Film Festival, and leading this year's. British Independent Film Award nominations. Tom Brook caught up with Akinola Davies Jr in New York.
