Fears of McDonalds ‘temptation’ near Herts school
The fast food outlet could open close to Bishop’s Stortford High School. Planning permission for the restaurant is being sought by Countryside, the developer behind the St James’ Park development in Bishop’s Stortford. But new rules could allow local authorities to refuse applications for fast food outlets within walking distance of schools. Included in this report by the BBC’s Simon Dedman are: Dale Reeve, the Headteacher of Bishop’s Stortford High School, Josh Dean, the Labour MP for Hertford and Stortford, and Suzanna Forwood, Associate Professor at Anglia Ruskin University.
