‘I was in shock when I was faced with the possibility of a hysterectomy’
BBC journalist Sam Nanda has recently returned to work after a hysterectomy. She explains how she coped with having the operation.
A hysterectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the womb (uterus).
Speaking to 5 Live’s Naga Munchetty, she said: “Although we never planned on having any more children, once that decision is taken away from you, it hits you in a very different way.”
“When I was faced with the possibility of a hysterectomy, I was in shock.”
