Digger sinks into Great Dunmow pond

A digger has become stuck in the silt-filled pond it is supposed to be repairing.

Restoration work began in October 2024 to ‘desilt and repair’ the ancient Doctors Pond in Great Dunmow.

It is where inventor Lionel Lukin is thought to have tested his unsinkable lifeboat in the 1780s.
